ERPNext for discrete and process manufacturers, configured by people who've stood on a shop floor at 06:00. Production scheduling, BOM versioning, work-order traceability, with hooks into MES and quality systems that don't pretend to be ERPs.

BOMs that track raw-material cost down to the unit, work orders linked to BTW codes for intra-EU goods, and a single chart of accounts for groups with multiple B.V.'s. Built for manufacturers who still close the books in a spreadsheet.

The challenge
What goes wrong in manufacturing ERP.
A few failure modes account for most of the manufacturing-ERP wreckage we walk into. We engineer around them from week one.
01
BOM versioning rot
Engineering changes a BOM, production keeps consuming the old one for weeks, the variance hits month-end. We model BOMs with effectivity dates and force engineering-release sign-off.
02
Phantom inventory
The system says you have stock the warehouse doesn't. The difference walked off in scrap, samples or a counting error months ago. We close the gap with cycle-counting and serialised tracking at the right SKUs.
03
MRP that runs forever
MRP that takes hours runs once a week — which means it's never right. We tune the run, profile the slow queries, and split bulk vs. continuous lines into separate schedules.

Common questions
Questions we hear in week 1.
Can ERPNext replace SAP for a manufacturing site?
For mid-market sites — yes, in most cases. For the HQ of a multinational — usually not, and not the question worth asking. The right question is whether ERPNext can replace SAP at one plant and integrate cleanly with HQ-SAP. The answer is yes.
How does it compare to Plex / Epicor / IFS?
ERPNext is broader and shallower than those out of the box. The difference is that the depth gap is closable in custom-app weeks, not vendor-roadmap years. If you have a unique workflow, you write it; if you don't, you ship in months.
What about MES?
ERPNext is not an MES. We integrate with whichever MES you have (Critical Manufacturing, Plex, Tulip) — usually OPC-UA or MQTT into a Frappe ingest, then up into work-order events. If you don't have one, we'll tell you whether you need one. Usually you don't.
Quality + CAPA?
The ERPNext Quality module covers inspections and NCRs. CAPA we layer on with a small open-source app that adds 8D workflows and supplier-side closure.
