The Desk

The Desk is Frappe's main interface — what users see after logging in. It combines navigation, forms, lists, reports, and dashboards in one tabbed UI.

Anatomy

• Top bar — search (Ctrl+G), notifications, user menu, help
• Left sidebar — Workspaces, grouped by app
• Main pane — current document, list view, or dashboard
• Right sidebar — context: comments, assignments, attachments, version history

Awesome Bar

Press Ctrl+G (Cmd+K on Mac) to open the search bar. Type any DocType to open its list, any record name to jump to it, or any report name to run it. Faster than clicking through menus.

Workspaces

Each module (Accounts, Selling, Stock, Frappe Ecosystem, etc.) has a Workspace — a customizable landing page with shortcuts, charts, and number cards. Pin frequently-used Workspaces to the sidebar via Pin in the Workspace menu.

List, Form, Report

Every DocType automatically gets:

• List view — table of records, filters, sort, bulk actions
• Form view — single record with all fields, child tables, comments, attachments
• Report view — grouped totals, optional pivots

Personalisation

Each user can pin Workspaces, set their default landing page (User → Default Workspace), and rearrange list-view columns (List → Settings).
